Mental Health Counseling Services

  • Psychotherapy

I utilize a variety of treatment techniques, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectal Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness, and Expressive Arts Therapy.

  • Expressive Arts Therapy

Expressive Arts Therapy utilizes art, music, poetry, and movement in therapy sessions, along with guided reflection and problem-solving. Clients do not need any prior experience with art as the foundation of the work is within the process and not the final product.

What can I expect from a therapy session?

My approach is person-centered and will vary depending on your personal needs and preferences. We will collaborate at the start of therapy to determine the appropriate approaches to achieve your therapeutic goals. We will start with an intake session in which I will gather information about current struggles, your history, and what you hope to achieve from therapy. A typical session will start with a check-in to explore your current mood, current stressors, and support needs. From there, we will collaborate an agenda for the session. Whether we are engaging in a talk therapy session or an expressive arts therapy session, the majority of the therapeutic time is spent holding space for you to process, explore emotions, discuss challenges, and feel heard. As your therapist, we may suggest coping strategies, work to help you better understand yourself and your relationships, and offer therapeutic feedback.
